Top Rules to be Followed in Blogging....

Alright, there are people who are continuously pinging me, messaging me and asking about how they should start writing, and what should be the thought procedure and how to get more visitors to the blog. Well to be frank, there is no one way to write, or to attract the people to your blog. But there are few things that I follow while writing and always make sure to follow certain points so that people read my blog.

As I have mentioned already that Blogging is all about you, so you don't have to try to follow someone, or be like someone. I think each one of us have the way of thinking and the way we express is as well different for each individual. May be the way I write on topic can be different what you write about the same topic. You guys know why people write different on the same topic as well? Because of the experiences what they have faced in life. What I have experience is going to be my thought about something, and what you have experienced is going to be your thought on the same topic. So the final product is going to be different for both of us.

So as mentioned, if I have experienced something bad in life, my thinking will be different and if you have experienced something good in life your thinking will be different.

Few rules that can be followed in Blogging can be (As per my understanding of course):

1.     Answer few questions to yourself.

Why do you need a blog?
What is your main purpose of Blogging?
What are you going to write if you have a blog?
What is it that you want to share with the world?
What experiences can make others bring to your blog?

2.   Ask the above questions and then decide the name of the “Blog”. Now a name is a unique identity of your blog in the market. So you have to keep few things in mind.

Is it a professional blog? Or is it a technical blog? Or is it a Hybrid blog? Or is it only related to emotions and relations?

Once you know what your blog is going to be deciding the title will be easy. Also I would say be sure about the “Title” from the beginning because you can’t and ideally you should not change it again and again as it decreases the credibility.

3.   A “Title” should not be something common. Don’t try to copy someone else, or don’t just keep a word. It is your “Brand”. And a brand has to be unique, different, attractive to the customers, and not easily copied. If you are supposed to launch a brand a market what is the name you are going to give so make it famous or to differentiate it from others?

4.   Blog Address: After the “Title” another thing that is important to keep in mind is the domain that you chose. I personally don’t like the names like: Blogchocopie.blogspot.com or Letmebealive.com or Cutiepie87.blogspot.com. These names are fine for a personal blog but if you want the blog to be read by professionals, and all over the country then the address should be something sensible that people can remember easily.

I would say the best is your name: Like is your name is Ankit then it can be :

Ankitwrite.blogspot.com

Or like I have

Amritaphadnis.com

So names like this are easy to remember and come easily in goggle search compared to ankit887. People can know okay so this guy was born in the year 1987 and of course on 8th date. :P

5.    One thing is never hold your blog to one topic or one experience. Try to write on all the topics and all the subjects. That will increase your expertise and will give you more scope to show your talent in writing. So try to write on love and relations, hurt, pain, and then also write Fiction stories, and move to professional articles, and at the end try your hand on poems or few liners.

Don’t stick yourself or “Your Audience” at one level. Move all
Over in the writing arena so that the audience should get used reading all types
and topics on your blog and would not expect certain things.

6.  Try to label your blog or in easy terms I should say categorize the topics. So you can have five categories like:

Okay now here the thing the below are just the examples of my blog. Try creating your own and original.

a)     Love
b)     Movies/Books review.
c)     Professionalism
d)     Women/society
e)     Blah Blah Blah.

After having the categories you will know what experiences can go in which
one and then writing will be easy.

7.  Always pick up a category and start writing an article with certain mind set. So that you don’t get distract by other things and experiences. Also this will help you in keeping your focus on one particular subject or Article.

8.   Divide your Article into three parts.

a) The introduction: Can be the characters introduction or the topic or the article introduction. Remember introduction or starting of the article should be with easy words and should not put much pressure on the reader while reading. It should be engaging and should create an impression about the article that the readers are forced to read next paragraph.

b)  Main content: Can be the main crux of the story. Can be divided into paragraphs with different   emotions in each one. Can leave a question in the mind of the reader about what will happen next.  Don’t reveal everything in the main content paragraph; let few things be a suspense till the end.

c)   The learning or the conclusion: The end should be what decision you took ultimately and why do  you think it was right to take that.

9.    Remember you can’t force the audience to agree or disagree with your decision or conclusion. Each one of us has our own opinions on things and experiences so that is what you did in your article and others can surely take their own way. Respect others opinions and disagreement if any and move on.

10. The timing: This is the last but the most important rule to be followed. At least I follow this every time before I publish any article.

when publishing your article look at the time you want to publish it. Usually peak time is when most of the people are online. Afternoon is the worst time to publish any article because people are usually working or not online. So after dinner like 0900 PM to 1130 PM is one of the best slots to publish your article. Also if on weekends then the best because people have time to read.
